  • I have been searching for information leading to the value of these clubs I have. I have about 12 clubs , most have cleek marks, a pipe, a hand, and three leaves with m stamped in each leaf. I have a TS of St Andrews, WM PK is also stamped . A few Putters that have "Glencoe" with 1863. and on one its "Robroy". Can someone tell me what I should do to get the value on these clubs?

  • Ok, here's a picture sent to me of a vintage set of golf clubs. The heads are in great condition and are stamped Gibsons of Kinghorn. These clubs date to the 1930s or 1940's. There a small problem however, if you look closely you can see they are steel shafted...see how the hosels taper as they get nearer to the thinner metal shaft. If these were hickory shafted I'd estimate they be worth 350 GBP = 700 USD. However, I've seen many steel shafted sets go for only 20 GBP = 40 USD. Golf MemorabiliaGolf Memorabilia

    A.
    Bill,
This putter was made by the firm of Robert Forgan and Sons of St.Andrews Scotland. From the pics and your description it looks like a MAXMO model made in the 1920's. Whilst "long-nose" in shape it was made 40 years after the true longnose era finished. It seems to need some refurbishment. If you have clear solid proof that it was used to win the Open, or used by an Open champion, then you're quids in and it's likely to be worth several thousand pounds. If no proof exists then I'd value it between 100 and 200 GBP ( once it has been restored ).
